Our Favorite Spots

Your next vacation to Breckenridge is not complete until you eat like the locals do.

This mountain town is home to a number of delicious eateries, from casual breakfast joints to upscale and gourmet dinner spots, that will make your foodie heart soar.

So today, we’re taking you through a day in the life of a local foodie and recommending all of our favorite spots to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in Breckenridge, Colorado.

Breakfast in Breckenridge

Start your morning off right with a delicious breakfast that will wake up your taste buds. Whether you’re looking for a casual cafe for a pancake breakfast or you just want to pick up a cup of coffee and a pastry, we have a few recommendations for you.

For a casual diner experience, the Columbine Cafe cannot be beat. Tucked away on South Main Street, this cafe continually wins Best Breakfast in Breckenridge, and for good reason. American breakfast staples like omelets, breakfast burritos, and pancakes are some of the highlights of their menu.

If your tastes veer a bit more European, check out the La Française French Bakery, located at the southern end of Main Street, for some of the best baked goods in town. Or if you’re just in the mood for a quick coffee and bite to eat, the Cabin Coffee Co. is a great option as well–be sure to take a look at their specialty Turtle Coffee for a sweet morning treat.

Casual Lunch Options

After a morning of hiking or skiing the slopes, your appetite will be raring to go.

For lunch, there’s quite a few options around that will wet your whistle, but one you absolutely have to try on your next trip to Breckenridge is Soupz On, a well-known soup spot located on North Park Avenue. This soup fusion spot always has a line out the door, and tourists and locals alike agree that its variety and soup selection cannot be beat anywhere else in Colorado. Be aware that there’s no seating inside, however, so most people grab their soup and go.

If you’d rather sit down for lunch, be sure to look into The Canteen, a pub-style restaurant serving traditional American fare: burgers and fries abound on their menu. With 16 different beers on tap, they are also the perfect spot to start you Colorado beer tasting for the day.

Wine and Dinner Spots

With a busy day winding down, it’s time to be wined and dined at some of Breckenridge’s classiest restaurants for dinner.

For wine-lovers, Aurum Food & Wine cannot be beat, just off of Ridge Street in the heart of town. You will find that aside from their exemplary wine menu, modern atmosphere, and unbelievably warm staff, their menu of contemporary dishes is also out of this world. If you’re already an Aurum enthusiast, keep your eyes out for their next project: a boutique hotel that will include another restaurant and bar we cannot wait to try.

Another option for an upscale dinner in Breckenridge is Ember, a unique restaurant that’s set in an old Victorian home on Adams Avenue. Their menu features international and American fare that’s second to none, along with a great selection of wine and drinks, that will help you end your day in Breckenridge on the right note.
